Fleet Engineer/Superintendent
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Fleet Engineer/Superintendent to join our dynamic Technical team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in vessel management, particularly in the dry bulk sector, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high technical standards while protecting Owners' interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance & PMS by reviewing daily PMS reports, approving maintenance activities and supervising onboard work and contractors for efficiency and HSSEEn compliance;
- Ensure compliance & system implementation by verifying adherence to the Company's Management System and relevant regulations during vessel visits and audits;
- Maintain active vessel oversight through regular communication with Masters and Chief Engineers to monitor equipment performance and operational standards;
- Attend vessels for inspections & repairs, including dry-dockings in line with Company's Policy and planned onboard visits;
- Evaluate technical and procurement needs by assessing repair requisitions, sourcing service providers based on cost/time/quality and reviewing supply orders for spares and lubricants.
Qualifications:
- Former Chief Engineer with sea going experience on Bulk Carriers along with shore experience (3 years in position) or
- Mechanical Engineer/Naval Architect degree or equivalent from a recognized University with two (2) years’ experience in a similar position;
- Minimum B2 Upper Intermediate English knowledge;
- Computer skills;
- Excellent communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
